Setting the trap
Ray Cartwright (New York) | February 10th, 2024
I like the design and sturdiness of the trap, but setting the trip plate is very tricky. I bought the setting tool and it helps, but I have had the trap cleaned out many times. I've polished the end of the trip pin and I'm hoping this will make it trip easier,

Very effective

Bought 3 of these to keep the raccoons from eating more of my corn than I did. They were hard to bait and set as the spring was not compressible. Used a large pair of slip lock pliers to compress it. Using only mini Swedish fish as bait, I quickly caught 2 raccoons.

Catches everything but rabbits
James Emery (Minneapolis) | August 18th, 2023
I’ve had the rabbit trap for several weeks now. Even without any instructions on how to set it up, it was pretty easy to do so. I’ve baited it mostly with apple chunks, although I also occasionally used pieces of carrots and some lettuce. I also used the Apple Essence liquid a couple times at the entrance. So far, I’ve caught two possums and at least a dozen chipmunks, but not a single rabbit. There are lots of rabbits wandering around in my lawn. But none of them has shown any interest in entering the trap. Oh well. Two chipmunks got caught at once. I normally just open the gate door and let them go. One did so immediately. But the other wouldn’t come out. I’m trying to bait him out now. Hope he doesn’t die in there.

Almost there

I have used the other similar size guillotine trap sold here and they work very well but with a problem...that rear locking mechanism gets rusted out quickly and is near impossible to open so I have to bait from the front. THIS one and that sliding back door is a great idea. I agree with another reviewer here...the wingnut could be a bit more heavy duty. Only major suggestion: A rear mounted bracket as at the front to stabilize and level the trap.

Works as described

Cannon works as described with only one issue. The lowest decibel setting is 90 decibels and not 80, it just won't go that low. Otherwise it does what it is supposed to do. It is very easy to set up and program the time. Once done, it turns on and off by just opening or closing the propane bottle valve feeding the cannon. It cleared the water birds from my pond as we hoped it would but the neighbors hate it.

Works as it should

Use this as a skunk and raccoon excluder. For raccoon I would prefer a 10" but I've seen 25lb raccoon make it through.

Good Trap

I usually run TS-85's or MB750's but I figured id give these a try and I do like them but I wasn't really a fan of the night latch because it doesn't have that distinct click like an MB. \nThe other thing I ended up doing is removing 2 of the coils to make them easier to set and they still hold great!

Great product
Craig Tiano | March 13th, 2023
Using this with bird bangers and screamers has chased the frying rats (ducks and geese) from my lake. The only complaint I have with this is that the gun itself is small in the hands.

Nice enclosure.
Tom R. | March 7th, 2023
Made of black wire, the mesh is 1/2" x 1/2" and not sure if it's coated or not but is fairly sturdy. This can be set up in various ways depending on what you need to do. I will be using it mostly as a cubby set. \nNot sure if it's me but a duke 160 sits a bit loose in the 2 holding/stabilizing bumps, it will definitely need to be staked or secured to stiffen it in place. \nThe 2 slots are plenty long enough to satisfy some states cubby/bucket set rules.

These traps are great
Lou Herard | February 21st, 2023
Only issue I have with these is: they don't always trap lighter-weight rats. The trigger has a bit of play/slack; for best results, I like to tap the trigger down a bit, after setting it (i.e. with one hand, I hold the back end of the trap, so it doesn't snap down on my tapping hand) -- I can't do a better job of explaining it with words than this video can (the video is for the Tomcat snap trap; but I have both Tomcat and T-Rex, they're the same trap yo..: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fzUkBPXM3U)\n\nOverall though, they work very well.
