    The Safeguard Model 53130 Professional Cage Trap features 1" x .5" wire mesh over the entire floor and back of the trap and 3" up each side.  This prevents animals from pulling up dirt and debris into the trap. The pan has a beveled back for added stength.  This trap is excellent for raccoon, armadillo, feral cats, woodchuck (groundhog), and similarly sized animals.

    PROFESSIONAL SERIES FEATURES:

    • All traps made of Galfan™ wire as opposed to common galvanized wire for a higher corrosion resistance, resulting in a three-times longer life.
    • Internal bait tray travel stops.
    • Heavy duty bait tray to eliminate damage by trapped animals.
    • Additional operating rod support rings for superior durability.
    • 1/2" x 1" 14 gauge wire covering the entire floor of trap to protect turf and roof shingles.
    • Carrying handles and hand guard.
    • Trap door reinforced to provide maximum performance and superior animal retention.
    • Made in the USA and covered by a 1 year warranty against manufacturer's defects.
    TIP: Bait placement should be all the way to the rear of the trap, beyond the triggering pan. DO NOT smear or place directly on the triggering pan.  You want the animal to pass over and onto the triggering pan with their focus and attention on the bait.

    They last reliably for years in professional use. Over time the Huge Bull Male raccoons will eventually beat them up and they will need replaced. For occasional home use, I don't think you would ever wear them out. I currently catch over 300 raccoons a year in these. I also get a number of opossums and groundhogs.
