We live in an urban environment where the city refuses to manage the coyote issue. Dogs, cats, possums, wild rabbits, red squirrels, all disappearing at a alarming rate. We see them every where, evening during the day and honestly, they simply do not care about the presence of humans. Attacks on children are now increasing in neighboring cities and still, our city refuses to take action. \nThe first night we placed the collarum in our backyard we captured a coyote. \nYouTube videos helped to teach proper placements with obvious success. \nWe're so happy to have the collarum in our arsenal of tools to combat these apex predators. \nWhile most neighbors and the city neglect the issue, we're not giving in quite so readily.

I bought this for some stray dogs in the neighborhood... Still, haven't had a chance to test it out on them.. However, I was able to test it out on feral pigs and it worked amazingly well. Just swapped out the thick cable that it came with for kill snares, baited with frozen corn cobs, and caught 2 decent little pigs in two days. \nOn a down note.. i did not receive the fluffy bite piece shown in the picture. And the whole trap needs to be screwed to a two-foot piece of 1x6 scrap wood if you live in soft soil.. otherwise, it is very difficult to set. And you really have to make sure to set up to funnel the target directly into standing in the right direction. Otherwise, it will just whack them in the side of the face.

I received the product quickly after ordering. Within days I had figured it out and got it set on a Sunday and on the following Tuesday had a coyote. The cable was trashed after the first catch, so the description saying its good for 3 or 4 catches obviously isn't correct. But even with that I was satisfied with how it operated. I still think it's a little pricey for what it is.

This trap is nothing less than amazing. Super strong construction but light weight. Easy to use and specific to the target animal. I've been using it with the T bait bar and wiring chipmunk and squirrel carcases to it. I've had opossoms and young foxes spring the trap and it let them be. I even had a broadtailed hawk eat the bait without springing the trap. Coyotes are another matter. It gets them. One thing I did was to fix the T so that I could take it off. When it's off, the set tong from the Victor Out O' Sight mole trap makes a perfect lever to set the trap. Wire on the bait, put it on the trigger, and secure it with a cotter pin and let er' rip.

If you do urban predator control work and you don't have a Collarum in your arsenal, you're missing out! Whether it's fox, coyotes, or even a stray dog that you're after, the Collarum is the best answer for SAFE, live capture. Using traditional traps made me nervous in the urban setting with children and pets in the area. With the bite pull triggering system, a kid can step on it all day long without setting off the trap. In the rare instance of an incidental catch I can rest assured the no harm will come to the captured animal.\r\n\r\nThe Collarum is definitely MONEY in my pocket!
