WCS™ PRO-12 Bear Foot Snare Replacement Cable

The cable is great brand new. First time you get it on the pro 12 is works perfectly. But that's about it, each time you use it it gets weaker. To the point you can't choke the spring down enough to close the lock and still fit it on the jaws of the trap. The trap itself is fantastic. Beds great, works great, but the cable is super disappointing.

Needs a much stronger or longer spring. I was inexperienced when I started using this trap - I didn't realize the loop wasn't fully closing to a 3" loop. I had multiple bears get out of it before I realized what was going wrong. Nice trap quality control issue on the snare.

Needs a stronger spring

It worked I got a 150 pound bear my only complaint about this set up is the spring. Bear had the spring almost completely off the snare in a half hour. Two of my relatives also used the same snare and both got about the same size bear I did and there springs were completely torn off the snare. I'd like to see a heavier spring put on this snare set up. But honestly I would buy another one cause it did work

This is my second year trapping for bear. The original snare that came with my trap got twisted up from a catch but the bear managed to free himself. I needed a replacement and heard about WCS through a buddy when we initially started trapping. This cable device was longer by my original snare that came with my trap. The snare is built very rugged and simple enough to set up the cub stop and load the spring up. Shipping was awesome, I paid for 3 day and got it in two. \nI had one catch where the bear did manage to get free but it took 2 hours of the bear yarding on it and thrashing it well and was able to be set it back up and it landed me a 204lb boar the next morning and even after 3 hours of the bear trying to free himself the snare held strong and shows no kinking of the cable. I will be buying these again from WCS. Highly recommend WCS for trapping supplies!

My son just got his bear trapping license in Maine, so I ordered this snare for him to use on a 6" pvc pipe/trigger device according to Maine law. It arrived within a few days and seems to be very high quality. Looking forward to trying it out in early October. 2021

This product is great and simple to set up and use. I was able to trap a Maine bear last year and it held up great. It meets all of the legal requirements for Maine as far as the lynx protection goes. I highly recomend this for any interested in bear trapping Maine.
