It's back!! WCS is pleased to announce the return of the WCS™ Shorty Tube Trap™! This trap is a shorter version of the classic Rust Resistent Tube Trap, but with a few new advantages. Just like its big brother, it is treated with an electro-plating process which is black in color and is highly rust resistant. No need to dip, dye, or spray paint these traps. Just pull them out of the box and use them. This tunnel shaped trap is a very effective squirrel and rodent trap. Constructed of 21-gauge steel, the trap is 4.5 inches in diameter, 7.5" inches long, and is powered by a beefy double torsion spring. It now offers a zero clearance strike and its smaller size allows it to be used in spaces where larger traps just won't do. Used either baited or non-baited, the Shorty Tube Trap is a natural attractant to squirrels wanting to run through it or hide in it. Once the squirrel reaches the triggering pan in the middle of the trap, the double torsion spring triggers the strike bar. The WCS™ Shorty Tube Trap comes with a built in safety latch to prevent the trap from prematurely firing while setting. Caution: The Shorty Tube Trap is a LETHAL trap, use special care when and where setting.

IMPORTANTPlease stake down the trap to minimize possibility of theft by a larger animal, i.e., coyote.

Product Features

  • Rust resistant
  • 21-guage steel
  • 4.5" in diameter, 7.5" long

BAITING

There are two preferred ways of using the Tube Trap in a baited fashion. First, using your favorite paste type bait smear some directly onto the triggering pan of the Tube trap. For added appeal, press some bird seed of sunflower seeds into the paste bait. Then take a 1/4" piece of hardware cloth or screening and lay it on top of the triggering pan containing the bait and wrap the edges around the pan. The easiest way to do this is to grip it with your hand. This makes it harder for the squirrel to access the bait, and they have to work at it. The second baiting method involves smearing your favorite paste bait directly above the pan. To do this, turn the trap completely over, BEFORE SETTING IT, and smear the paste directly over the pan area. Then turn the trap back over and set it according to proper instructions. Again, this makes the squirrel work for the bait as they will be focused on the bait, not on the triggering pan.

SQUIRREL BE GONE
Andre Green (Chicago IL) | October 12th, 2024
I BOUGHT 2 TUBE TRAPS IN 2024 AND I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE RESULTS. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH SQUIRRELS SINCE I WAS A KID AND NOW I AM 57. I HAVE HAD GREAT SUCCESS WITH CAGE TRAPS BUT NOTHING LIKE THIS. ONCE YOU LEARN THE SECRET OF HOW AND WHAT BATE TO USE, ITS ON. GREAT PRODUCT. GIVE A NEW MEANING TO CATCH AND RELEASE. I USE A PILL BOTTLE WITH PEANUTS AND TIE STRAP IT TO THE TRAY. WORKS GREAT. NO MORE STEALING BATE. WORKS ON BABY OPOSSUMS ALSO. NO MORE PARTS RUSTING IN THE WEATHER AND TRAP NOT WORKING. YOU WONT CATCH EVERY SQUIRREL BUT 99 PERCENT YOU WILL. THEY ARE SMART BUT NOT SMART ENOUGH TO RESIST TEMTATION. ALSO CURIOSITY KILLED THE SQUIRREL. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT TRAP. COMING FROM A OLD SCHOOL SQUIRREL TRAPPER.

shorty tube trap
Bruce Wakefield (Western Maine) | June 23rd, 2023
i bought a shorty tube trap a couple of years ago. it has caught Grey squirrels, Red squirrels, flying squirrels and chipmunks if they have heavy feet. So far this spring I am up to 13 greys, and about the same on chippies. If someone has a problem with these rats in their home. This will save the problem. I screwed my Shorty to a board about 18 inch long and 12 inches wide. This give me a margin of safety when setting. Peanut butter spread on the board entrance's, and on the trip plate, with some bird seed thrown inside and on the peanut butter works terrific.

Caught my first rodent in this trap today. Worked well. I have two other types of traps out that they have learned to avoid so introducing this new trap style helped. I found it easy to remove the rodent and reset the trap. I used the small holes to screw it to a post. I have to keep these things from getting into my attic they already got into my neighbors attic.

Great Trap

This is my second such trap. I place them in heavy traffic areas and without a doubt, a rodent is caught and dispatched. It keeps them out of my attic!

An amazing trap with a great design. If something sets it off, it's done. Have had excellent luck with this and will definitely buy more. Perfect for squirrels. Thanks!

Works great! We've caught many squirrels over the years. I mount our trap on a pole and lean it against the part of the fence with lots of squirrel traffic.

Just ordered two more for gopher/ground squirrels
Steve | June 23rd, 2022
My first season trapping gophers was so so. Tried different baits, got a couple then just started catching birds and gave up. This season I didn't use any bait I just put the traps in the trails between holes and have trapped over 60 gophers in a little over a week with 3 traps! Awesome trap.
