Been using these style of stabalizers for years and recently purchased another dozen since I picked up more traps. The bottom of the trap sits close to the cross bar so you can get the trap all the way to the mud. In shallow conditions like we have here that is very important. Once it catches the trap comes off and out of the way easily so you don't have a dead beaver right in the way spooking the rest.
